I decided to go off the trucker ready board and take a few days off as I had them coming. This terminal is where my car is kept while driving so we-Bill & I-loaded his things and a few of my things into it and went back to Fulton(Missouri) where I dropped him off at his home. I took the rest of the day get a couple parts for my car and installing them. Stayed with the Barnes-the ones I stayed with when off. Getting too confident that you can handle any situation can become deadly...
Side Note:(tailgating-following too close)
This is a problem that everyone sees all the time on the highways. It is extremely hard to stop as so many people feel confident in their abilities to stop in time. The only one who can stop it is YOU. If all the "YOU"s would back off a little-or a lot-there would be less accidents.
For the truck driver, there is the vehicle inspection where the driver is to check their brakes. We had a fatal truck accident a few years back where the investigating officers found ONLY one out of the ten brakes on the semi that ran over a car adjusted correctly. The driver is now serving a jail sentence and having to live with his "MISTAKE(???)"
The pictures below are of a tractor that the driver admitted following too close in a rain storm when they went over a rise in the road only to find another accident. The first tractor was able to avoid the already existing accident. No one was serious hurt.
